Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, a partner of the Academic Health Services Centre, Guy’s King’s and Thomas’ Medical School is a key partner of the South London Comprehensive Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre.
This service has developed a unique transition team that overseas a smooth transfer of adolescent and young people from the paediatric (Evelina) to the adult(St Thomas) haemoglobinopathies units.
The service includes specialist teams essential in delivering a high comprehensive sickle celll service. The annual Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia course is one of the educational programmes supported by the UK Forum on Haemoglobin Disorders.
